S3 Object Storage

The S3 Object Storage solution allows you to store and manage files in the cloud using trusted services like Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or Cloudflare R2, instead of only storing them on your local server.

Why Do You Need S3 Object Storage?

Managing a large number of files locally can be risky, expensive, and hard to scale. This module helps by:

• Storing your files securely in the cloud
• Providing easy access to files from anywhere
• Offering flexible, scalable storage as your product data grows
• Automatically synchronizing files between the system (PIM) and the cloud
• Allowing you to work with cloud files just like local ones – download, export, and link them to products

How Does It Work?

1. 1. Connect Your Cloud Storage
   After installing the module, go to Administration > Connections and add your S3-compatible cloud account details (such as region and access keys) to create a secure link.
2. Create a Storage Folder in PIM
   Go to Administration > Storage and create a new storage that links to your cloud storage. Files added to this storage are automatically saved to the cloud.
3. Keep Everything in Sync
   Upload, change, or delete files in PIM and they’ll sync to the cloud. To bring files from the cloud into PIM, use the Scan button. You can also automate this with scheduled sync jobs.

Limitations

• Files and folders in cloud storage cannot be renamed or moved after being created.
• All other actions, such as downloading, linking, or exporting, are fully supported.
