The Advanced Data Management module enriches your PIM system by providing enhanced entity management capabilities, specifically improving your PIM data model. Offering extended functionalities beyond standard PIM and Core modules, it efficiently handles Relation entities. This module introduces new data types and dynamic selection features, significantly enhancing the flexibility and precision of your PIM data model.

Data Type “Script”

The Script data type enables dynamic calculation of attribute and field values using predefined or custom business logic. Values are generated at runtime based on conditions, formulas, or external inputs, allowing advanced automation and rule-based data enrichment without manual updates.

Practical example: Automatically derive a product’s warranty period based on category, brand, or price range.

Data Type “Composition”

The Composition data type allows an attribute to be built from a hierarchical structure of other attributes. This enables the creation of nested, reusable attribute groups, supporting complex data models while maintaining clarity and structural consistency.

Practical example: Defining a “Dimensions” attribute composed of height, width, depth, and unit, each managed as a structured sub-attribute.

Unique Options for Lists

List attributes can be configured to allow only a unique set of values, ensuring no duplicates exist—even across multiple language translations. This guarantees data consistency and prevents semantic duplication in multilingual environments.

Practical example: Ensuring that color options such as “Red” and its translated equivalents cannot be added more than once.

Dynamic Relations

Dynamic Relations automatically associates items based on saved search criteria rather than static, manual assignments. Relationships are updated in real time as data changes, enabling flexible, rule-driven categorization.

Practical example: Automatically linking all products marked as “Eco-friendly” to a sustainability category without manual maintenance.

Relation Properties

Relations can be fully customized by adding dedicated properties directly to the relationship itself, not just to the related entities. This enables the storage of contextual metadata such as priority, role, validity periods, activity status, or additional descriptions. Relation Properties also support multi-entity links, allowing relationships to connect more than two entities for sophisticated modeling scenarios.

Practical example: Adding a “priority,” “role,” or “valid from/to” field to a product-supplier relationship.
